What should I know about storing a gas-powered pressure washer?
Pressure washer safety includes proper storage. If you need to store gas-powered pressure washers for an extended time, keep the following safety tips in mind:
- Do not store a gas-powered pressure washer with fuel in the gas tank.
- Disconnect the fuel line to make sure no gas is trapped there.
- The fuel tank may vent fumes, even when empty. Never store your gas-powered pressure washer in an area with ventilation access into living spaces or office areas.
- Empty the contents of the power washer gas tank only in an approved container, and put the container on the ground when transferring fuel from the pressure washer to the container. Never transfer fuel to a container sitting on a truck bed, shelf or other elevated surface. The risk of ignition due to static electricity is too great.
